The Titans have to get going in October

The Tennessee Titans have started the 2026 season off 0-3 -- an identical start to the 2025 season, where they finally won in week five against the Arizona Cardinals.

It is hard to say there isn't more hope this season: the Titans have been in contention to win two of the three games they played in, losing them each by a single score.

More hope isn't what the team, coaches, and fans want to see though -- they want wins. The team has been rebuilding for three years now and progress has been stagnant.

Titans' quarterback Cam Ward's position as the quarterback of the future is up in the air after the start to the season. His stats have not been bad: 55 of 88 for 504 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception that led to the Titans losing to the Giants. He also has ran two touchdowns in.

The issue with Ward is that the offense is so slow, and he is missing throws and missing open receivers. He has been surrounded by talent including the $70 million dollar Wan'Dale Robinson and number four overall pick Carnell Tate.

The offensive line has been good and the running game has been solid, so there in no reason the offense should not be clicking -- it falls on Ward's shoulder.

Defensively, the team has been a tale of two stories. The run defense has been good, led by superstar Jeffery Simmons, but the pass game has been terrible.

The secondary has been flamed through three games. $100 million was spent in the offseason between Cor'Dale Flott and Alontae Taylor, and they have not been impressive for the money spent.

Amani Hooker and Kevin Winston as a safety duo has also struggled in coverage, allowing many deep completions across the field.

"We are two plays away from being 2-1, but unfortunately we are 0-3," coach Robert Saleh stated Monday morning.

The team is close to putting it all together, but the offense needs to improve and the defense needs to be more consistent.

The next three games are a difficult stretch, with the Ravens, Texans, and Colts, but the team has to come out with a couple of those games with a victory.

Momentum was building against the Giants before Ward's game losing interception, and the team should hope that can carry into October.

The next stretch of games is pivotal for the Titans.
