After a disasterous 1-6 start to the NFL season, Tyler Lockett's homecoming to Tennessee is coming to an end, as the veteran receiver has requested to be released from the team.

This comes with Lockett likely realizing he was on the verge of either being traded or losing most of his snaps to younger pieces on the roster. The 33-year old would clearly like to play and compete to win in some of the final years of his career.
Lockett's tenure has been quiet to this point, with only a handful of catches and only one touchdown on a fumble recovery in the team's lone win against the Arizona Cardinals.
This move likely benefits both parties, as Lockett is free to explore other options and sign with a team starting wednesday at 4pm, where he will hopefully be able to make more of an impact. For the Titans, this move comes following a breakout performance for rookie Chimere Dike, so he will likely be able to see more snaps in the future, as well as maybe some other young players like James Proche, Mason Kinsey, or even Xavier Restrepo.
I imagine Lockett with either reunite with his former head coach in Las Vegas, or go back to his career team of the Seattle Seahawks. If neither of those happen he may attempt to sign with a contender.
