The Titans just made one of the most shocking moves that we have seen in quite a while by trading young cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and a 2026 7th round pick for a 2026 6th round pick from the New York Jets.

This caps off a relatively big day for the Titans where Brian Callahan announced he was giving up play calling duties, but nobody expected this.
Brownlee has been a very solid corner for the Titans and has played extremely well for a 5th round pick. His potential is high, with many thinking he could eventually become the starting cornerback for the team.
Despite his good performance, he has had an issue with penalties, commiting several each game causing the opponents to get lots of yards, especially when they are deep pass interferences. Brownlee has refused to acknowledge these penalties or commit to improving and lessening the flags he racks up, which may be a driving factor in this trade.
There is a lot that goes on in an NFL locker room that most fans aren't aware of, so it is hard to tell the reasoning of this move. Mike Borgonzi wouldn't just trade a young player for minimal draft capital without a reason. There may have been character concerns, lack of effort, or even a trade request by Brownlee.
One thing is for certain though: The Jets acquired a good young cornerback.
