The Titans may already have a coaching crisis

It is the monday after the Tennessee Titans first regular season game, and they have managed to take a game we expected to lose, keep it close, and still make fans feel like trash. The main reasoning of this is the putrid decisions made by head coach Brian Callahan.

Let's start with the worst of it: Callahan doesn't know what a catch is. On a connection between Cam Ward and Elic Ayomanor, the receivers elbow came down in bounds but was ruled incomplete. This, by article three, section one of the rules, is a catch. The rule states it is complete if the receiver "touches the ground inbounds with two feet OR with any part of his body other than his hands". Coach callahan would, however, decide not to challenge it, stating in a post game press conference that "one elbow doesn't equal two feet" and that "he would have needed a foot down with it". This is a really poor look for a coach in the national football league. Most fans know this rule yet he somehow got it wrong.
Not knowing the rules aside, Callahan showed extremely poor playcalling multiple times in the game. The worst was right before half, where with less than a minute on the clock and backed up within their own ten yard line, the Titans attempted to throw the ball three times. Callahan seemingly wanted to be aggresive where he would need to go 60 yards in a few seconds. What ended up happening with this was Ward took a sack mere inches out of his own endzone and the Titans had to punt it to the Broncos without them having to use either of their two time outs and still about 30 seconds on the clock. The Broncos would of course score a touchdown and the incompitent head coach of the Titans caused a 4 point swing that killed the teams momentum.
Another poor set of calls was late in the game, where the Titans took over, already in field goal range, after a muffed punt by the Broncos. Only down by a point, the team needed at least a field goal here. Instead, Callahan called a string of plays allowing Ward to be sacked twice and knocking them out of field goal range. Worst of all, the team was set up for a 56 yard field goal on 3rd and long, so the right call would have been something quick to hopefully gain a few yards to make the kick easier. What ended up happening was all the Titans receivers running deep routes which resulted in a sack, costing the team more points.
Callahan was unable to get anything going offensively in this game, and called plays scared. He kept shooting himself in the foot causing more damage for the team than seemed positive. There was at least a 10 point swing of idiotic calls from the head coach. Callahan may want to look into handing play calling duties to the offensive coordinator and just focus on coaching, because he has proved himself unable to do it himself effectively.
I expect Brian Callahan to be gone by week 10
