Tennessee Titans sign Left Tackle Dan Moore Jr: Oh No

Updated: May 12, 2025

Free agency is under way, and that means a big overpay by the Titans: This year it’s yet again at the left tackle position.

Dan Moore Jr, previously a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is a 26 year old left tackle who is now stirring up controversy in the Titans community on if he is worth the money.

Last season, Moore had a seemingly impressive 92.5% pass block win rate according to Tru Media, however allowed 13 sacks on the season. He also had a 76.2% run block win rate, which was 26th in the NFL. According to PFF, Moore was tied for 9th amongst all tackles in most pressures allowed with 41, which is the same as Nicholas Petit-Frere, the previous starting right tackle.

It may not be all bad though. This allows the Titans to move first round pick J.C. Latham back to his natural right tackle position, and helps to solidify the offensive line. It has also seemed like bad pocket presence by Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson may have led to a chunk of the sacks, which can be supported with Moore only allowing 2 sacks through week eight (Fields started the first 4-5 games), and 10 through the second half of the season.

Whether or not this Moore is a good tackle, 4 years, $82 million dollars is a lot of money, but will be more than worth it if the Titans can lock down the offensive line for what’s lining up to be their first overall pick Cam Ward, or any other quarterback who will be starting for the Titans. I don’t love the price tag, but it may be worth the shot.
