Going into the 2025 NFL season, the Tennessee Titans do not have many contract extensions to worry about. The team is young filled with rookie contracts or signed veterans, but there is one expiring contract the team needs to look into: Roger McCreary.

Roger McCreary is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract after being the 35th pick of the 2022 NFL draft, and has been a consistent starting corner for the team since. With L'Jarius Sneed and Jarvis Brownlee Jr holding strong on the perimeter, McCreary holds a vital position in the slot.
According to PFF, McCreary has only allowed one touchdown in the past two years in the slot position. Extending McCreary to continue to thrive and improve in his new role is extremely important for locking up the Titans secondary for the upcoming years.
How much would it cost to extend McCreary though? Bears slot corner Kyler Gordon recently signed a 3 year, $40 million dollar contract, so that may serve as a base for what the Titans may have to pay. A contract would be estimated from $12-$15 million per year. A player of his calliber is not cheap, but is a necessary piece for the team's future.
McCreary is only 25, and can be a great threat paired with Brownlee and Sneed (who I imagine will be released after the 2025 season). If the Titans are unable to get a deal done, we may see McCreary dealt at the deadline, but I think an extension is needed. The Titans need to take advantage of the fact they have their starting quarterback on a rookie contract.
